So, you know that moment when you’re watching a livestream and just waiting for the juicy bits? Yeah, that was me, glued to Capcom’s June Spotlight. The whole Monster Hunter Wilds community was buzzing, and we finally got a decent scoop on Title Update 2. Not gonna lie, the details were like candy for those into the hunting scene.
First off, mark your calendars or your hand or whatever. Monday, June 30 – that’s when this baby lands. Though, heads up: the game will go offline for a few hours. Maintenance, they say. Always wonder what they actually do during those. Catch a nap? Who knows.
So, what’s in this update? Well, the biggest noise is around the new monsters. Lagiacrus and Seregios. Yup, you read that right. Lagiacrus is bringing underwater combat into the fray. Suddenly, your weapon’s just for decoration in water. Intriguing, eh? But before you dive in (ha, see what I did there?), you gotta finish the main mission called A World Turned Upside Down. And there’s this side quest, Forest Doshaguma. Why? No clue — just roll with it.
Seregios, same deal. Hunter Rank 31 and some questing prerequisite stuff. They’re both offering new armor sets. Palico’s gonna be styling too, because why shouldn’t your sidekick look fabulous? Oh, and for those super ambitious hunters, there are these Tempered versions at HR 41+. Because, of course, why not crank up the challenge?
Let’s talk about another beast coming later: Uth Duna’s Arch-tempered version. Sounds ominous, right? Scheduled for July 30. But the kicker? You’ll have to tackle this beast during an Event Quest at HR 50 and up. New gear’s promised. Pretty sweet.
Now, crafting nerds, brace yourself. TU2’s shaking things up with layered weapons. So, finally, you get to strut that fancy weapon look without sacrificing stats. There’s a catch, though: gotta have the final crafted weapon in a tree. Plus, if you fancy Artian Weapons, better reinforce the life out of it. Rarity 8 minimum, folks.
But wait, there’s more – minor tweaks, like switching your main handler from Alma to Erik. And, hey, extra support hunter on call with a Sword & Shield. You ever just feel like things are slightly scattered, but it’s somehow okay? That’s this update.
Ah, nearly forgot — there’s a fest happening! The Festival of Accord: Flamefete beginning July 23 till August 6. Think new armor, decorations, and themed meals. Grand Hub’s getting a facelift for the party, naturally.
Capcom also let slip something about Title Update 3. September’s when it’ll hopefully drop, bringing another monster (surprising no one).
Funny thing, despite the hype, Wilds itself is in kinda a slump. Seen the Steam reviews lately? Yikes. Overwhelmingly Negative. Ouch. Will TU2 be the lifeline? Beats me, but it sure looks like Capcom’s throwing everything at this. Let’s see if it sticks.
