Sure thing, let’s dive into this somewhat jumbled adventure through the week’s game releases.
So I stumbled into the Switch 2 updates this week — and, oh man, total spoiler alert for Drag x Drive’s trial. My bad. I think August is having a midlife crisis or something. It’s both weirdly chill and way too packed, starting off with Gradius Origins. Wasn’t that in the March Switch 1 Direct? Whatever, it’s here and, apparently, you need its lasers to take down the ultimate baddie in NES Pro Wrestling. Don’t ask me how that makes sense.
Switch gears a bit and we’ve got a House of the Dead 2 remake. Just a heads-up: Forever Entertainment is involved. For those who’d rather dive into some anime, there’s a new Demon Slayer game and something from the Fate series.
Tiny remarkables include The Edge of Allegoria, which is basically Pokémon RBY in HD. Or, it kinda feels like that? Not sure who allowed this, but hey, any publicity is publicity, right? Also, keep an eye out for Team17’s Ritual of Raven.
Oh, and what did I miss last week? Well, a Partner Showcase popped up with Chilling By The Fire (cozy, right?) and we had to reset the "Directs Without Saga Reveal" counter. Thank you, Square Enix. Predictable. Plus, a couple of 3DS-era Harvest Moon games made the jump to Switch, and Taito dropped their "Field Day" Archives release.
On a random note, for those who are dying to play EGGCONSOLE GAME but don’t know Japanese — chill out, you can. It’s mostly an action RPG, unless things get chatty.
