Alright, so here’s the thing. The Quest 3S Xbox Edition? It’s like, poof, vanished from Meta’s own shelves. How did that happen so fast, right? You try to snag one directly from them, you’re outta luck (US, UK, the whole shebang). Maybe people are just mega hyped about it. Or maybe Meta kinda undershot how many they’d sell. Total mystery.
But, don’t freak out just yet. Swing by Best Buy in the States or take a stroll through Argos and EE if you’re chillin’ in the UK. (Why is it still there? Beats me. Maybe Xbox couldn’t see this coming either. Who knows?).
There’s a photo floating around — you know the kind I mean, right? — showing a sad little “Sold Out” reminder on Meta’s site linked from Xbox. Awkward.
And surprise, surprise! Loads of these headsets are popping up on eBay. Scalpers in action, I guess. It’s always the way with these “limited editions,” eh?
So what’s the fuss about this Quest 3S Xbox thing? Honestly, not much different from your regular Quest 3S. Same guts, same everything. Except, it’s got a snazzy look, an Xbox controller bundled in, plus three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Neat, right? But heads up — not every Xbox game plays ball with this set-up.
Cost-wise, it seems like a sweet deal. For $400, you’re saving about 75 bucks compared to buying all that jazz separately. Which is…16% less? Math was never my friend.
Remember when Xbox promised VR support ages ago? Yeah, that didn’t really take off. This is as close as it gets right now. VR dreamers might feel a tad let down that it’s not actually VR for Xbox. Just regular flatscreen stuff but in a headset. Could be cool if they dropped some 3D renders someday, though.
Oh, almost forgot! There was a hiccup earlier with some numbers, but they fixed it. Said the bundle was worth $415, but it’s actually $475. Just a minor goof, no harm done.
Anyway, if you get your hands on one, let me know how it is. I’m curious!
