Marvel Rivals players have been buzzing about Blade forever. Like, seriously — since this whole thing kicked off. And now? Blade is finally crashing into action on Aug. 8. About time, right? I watched some of his early gameplay, and maybe, just maybe, the wait kinda paid off.
So, here’s the deal — Blade’s a Duelist. Duh. He’s all about getting up-close and personal, slashing away. Picture him wielding his sword with a shotgun’s backup. Seems a bit much? Maybe. But hey, he can block damage for a bit, which feels almost like cheating, but in a good way. Not to mention his speed. Think of the Punisher but with a dash of Psylocke’s flair. Oh, and this ultimate move? Total Dracula vibes. He slices and dices, clearing out enemies even mid-air! Imagine him launching into the sky with Iron Man and Storm, only to, well, wipe them out. Lands like a boss, not even glancing back because, let’s face it, cool guys just don’t.
Fans? Totally hyped. Everyone’s already calling dibs on Blade as their main. Sure, every new hero gets this reaction, but there’s something extra here, ya know? And the soundtrack? Chef’s kiss. Some YouTube comment even mentioned “from sleeping in Wakanda to aura farming.” No idea why that stuck with me, but it did.
Blade’s arrival isn’t a lone act, though. Tons of stuff is coming along — new map, new mode, you name it. A bunch of heroes will switch team-ups, and Blade’s joining the Lunar Force. That’s where Cloak and Dagger step in, helping heroes vanish temporarily. Here are some of the shake-ups direct from NetEase:
Guardian Revival and Atlas Bond say bye-bye. Loki’s ditching the Ragnarok Rebirth crew. Meanwhile, two new combos are kicking off: Duality Dance and Vibrant Vitality. Also, some old friends are finding new team-ups. Like Star-Lord tagging into the Rocket Network. And, of course, Blade jumping into Lunar Force. So much juggling, honestly—like some superhero dance party mix-up.
As for the multiplayer stuff, NetEase is upping its game. Voice chats are gonna get monitored for, well, decency. Walkouts during matches? Bigger penalties now. But if you stick around, you’ll get a little something extra at the end of a match.
And for those accidental departures? NetEase promises looked-at with fairness, speeding up those appeal processes for the unjustly banned. Too little too late? Maybe not. I guess we’ll see how it all plays out.
