Well, I gotta say, there’s something kinda wild about slapping your table to the beat of music, right? XR Games just hauled their rhythm game, BEATABLE, out of early access on Quest. Yeah, can you believe it? New features, fresh content… it’s kinda like opening a mystery box but, ya know, with cool music making you wanna dance like an idiot.
So, here’s the genius part: no controllers. Nope, just your trusty table acting all fancy like a VR haptic device. All you need is a Quest 2 or better. You hit, hold, clap in mid-air. I know, sounds a bit like waving to imaginary friends—don’t deny it, we’ve all been there.
Anyway, moving on or circling back, whatever. BEATABLE’s getting its first major update after April’s five-song tease. And, whoa, they’re really upping the ante now.
There’s this image floating around—gives you a feel for the madness, thanks to XR Games. So, like, now they’ve added a custom song and map editor. Kinda lets you play the mad scientist with tracks. Share ’em, compete—get ready for some wild beats from your friends.
And talking tunes, there’s like 24 songs now. Had twelve when it started, so that’s doubling down, right? Check out their Spotify Playlist—yeah, they went full-on official. Got everything from anime anthems by some Kudo Haruka guy, and a heavy track by Mikee Goodman. I think he was with SikTh. What a name, huh?
When I tried the early access version back in April, precision felt like the boss enemy. Yet, it was pretty close to gold for a chill game. Now, launch-day comes packing a gesture detection system that screams “stay on the beat!”—exactly like my high school band teacher. Plus, those visuals and gameplay tweaks… mmm, chef’s kiss.
You can snag BEATABLE over at the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above. It’s ten bucks a pop. There you go. 🎶
