Oh wow, so GPD’s got a new handheld gizmo coming up, and guess what? It’s called the Win 5, and it’s packing some serious punch with the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395. I kinda caught a snippet of it in some video, but thank goodness for The Phawx on YouTube, who spilled the beans about all the cool stuff inside — like this whopping 80Wh battery that’s not welded in. Which is genius if you ask me.
Why do gadgets glue batteries in nowadays anyway? Pop out the old, slap in a new — feels like we’re in the dark ages and suddenly we rediscovered fire with this one. It’s like the devs actually listened for once.
Oh, and let’s not gloss over the fact that this thing’s battery can be a backpack buddy or maybe even hang out on your desk like a bored paperweight. That way, when you’re in the gaming zone, your hands aren’t aching like you’ve been doing push-ups with a sack of potatoes.
But hang on – back to that Ryzen chip. There’s a “less beefy” version too — the Ryzen AI Max 385. Maybe it’s slower? Or just playing it low-key? Either way, it’s supposed to not drain your wallet or something.
Add to that the option of jacking up your RAM from 32GB up to 128GB. Isn’t tech wild these days? You can chuck in loads of games without worrying about the thing wheezing like an old man climbing stairs. They even threw in as much storage as you might ever need, unless you’re secretly the game hoarder of the century.
Weird diversion incoming: it seems the display got a facelift to a 7-inch deal with 120 Hz, so the visuals should be silky. Though Gorilla Glass 6 is hanging in there — remember when it first came out? Yeah, me neither, but it’s here, doing its job.
Anyway, this piece of wizardry is gonna strut its stuff at ChinaJoy 2025 in August. Fingers crossed it’s not outrageously priced, right? Imagine all the adventures waiting inside that tiny package.
Keep your eyes peeled, or better yet, your inbox. Tom’s Hardware’s got the goods. Who knew a pocket-sized powerhouse could be this exciting!
