Argath’s weird beef with, uh, not-so-rich folks just never stops, does it?
So, picture this: I’m minding my own business, watching this Sony State of Play thing, right? Yeah, as if that ever goes smoothly. Somehow, the beloved Nintendo Switch sneaks into the conversation. That’s right, surprise announcements for the Switch! I was not ready for this—cue the chaos.
First off, let’s talk leaks. Because everyone loves a good leak, right? Apparently, Final Fantasy Tactics—yeah, the one from way back in ’97 or ’98—pops up for a remastered cameo on the Switch by the end of September. Someone out there is probably losing their mind, I know I was. Square Enix confirmed it, so it’s not just some random dream. It’s coming to Switch and even Switch 2, whatever that is. I mean, nostalgia overload anyone? This classic strategy RPG set in the Ivalice universe (y’know, like Final Fantasy XII) finally making its way to Nintendo. Took ’em long enough.
Oh, and Mortal Kombat fans? You’re gonna wanna sit down. Or maybe stand up, I dunno, do what you want. Digital Eclipse is dropping a “kollection”—spelling’s probably their idea of edgy humor—with all the blood and chaos you’d expect. We’re talking the first four Mortal Kombats and the “Ultimate” version of 3. Arcade, console, you name it. And hey, maybe more stuff will get thrown in. It’s the wild west out here.
Okay, moving on. There’s this James Bond thing. I think it’s called “007 First Light” now. They’re all hush-hush, saying it’ll drop in 2026 for Switch 2. I remember hearing about it during some April event, but who keeps track of these things? Time is weird.
Oh, almost forgot. Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots—gotta say, golf never seemed this chaotic—will hit the shelves on September 5. And guess who’s swinging clubs? Pac-Man. Yep. Why not, right?
Last but not least, there’s some news for the Ninja Gaiden crowd. The Game Kitchen and DotEmu are teaming up for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. It lands on July 31, and they’re bringing back the original NES trilogy’s soundtrack maestros: Keiji Yamagishi, Ryuichi Niita, and Kaori Nakabai. So, music to everyone’s ears, literally.
And there it is. No idea if I covered everything—I got distracted somewhere in there, I think. But hey, that’s what makes this fun, or maybe just a bit chaotic.
