Whoa, okay, so here’s the scoop on Hades 2. Supergiant tossed out yet another "final" patch. It’s like when a band keeps doing farewell tours—do we ever believe them? I wanted to roll my eyes but, huh, maybe there’s more to it. Could be they’re on to something crucial, more than just fiddling with minor game details, if you catch my drift.
I mean, you skim through the dense notes from Patch 10 to 11, and yeah, it feels like they’re nitpicking. Like, Melinoe’s weapons got a speed tweak one patch, then sped back up in the next! But here’s the twist—playing it feels… right? Those tweaks? Yeah, they’re nailing it, even if messing with Hestia’s boons feels like a personal attack. Ouch.
Supergiant’s kinda got this sixth sense for player irritation, whether it’s big stuff or random things like balancing enemies on Olympus. You know, the stuff that drives us bonkers. It’s all about getting the enemy waves not too overwhelming but still challenging. Moving and reacting just right? Nailed it.
Honestly, I ditched Hades 2 pre-Warsong. Olympus was a slog. Like, who wants to slog through enemy waves just to get smashed before you’ve even figured out their dance? No thanks. But Patch 11 has me curious again, and I’m itching to dive back in when they roll out version 1.0.
What’s wild, though, is most of these tweaks don’t even come from player gripes. Weird, right? Supergiant’s team seems to already know what’s needed—before we do. They sprinkle a few community-inspired changes in there, like speeding up Hex activation. Most adjustments, though, are their own brainchild. Hats off to that intuition!
In this endless early access loop ’til Patch 10, Supergiant promised a top-notch version 1.0. With so many games spinning forever in early access, or “unlaunching” like some others I won’t name here (cough, Splitgate 2), it’s refreshing when a dev company truly commits to polishing things up. Like, Splitgate kinda missed the mark, and their CEO kinda confessed to not getting what players liked about their game in the first place. Oof.
So really, Supergiant, take all the time you need with your “final” patches. It’s painful waiting, but hey, I’m willing to hang in there.
