Oh man, where do I even start with this one? So, okay, Limited Run Games is bringing back this Gex Trilogy thing. Yep, that gecko from way back when is making a splash again. Who’d have thought? They’re doing these three physical editions for the Switch. Kinda cool, I guess.
Anyway—wait a sec—I didn’t really mention what’s in it. So, there’s like the original Gex (old-school 2D vibes) and then those two 3D sequels: Gex: Enter the Gecko and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko. They’ve added these neat little tweaks, like a rewind thingy and saving anywhere—bet that’s gonna save some rage quitting moments!
Oh, and how could I forget? Enter the Gecko and Deep Cover Gecko now look all fancy with the 16:9 widescreen and some slick 360-degree control. It’s like they’ve been working out, you know?
Alright, let’s talk editions. They’re saying these will bring back the glory days of everyone’s favorite tail-whipping gecko. What do they mean by that? Beats me, but here’s what you can get:
Standard Edition ($39.99 MSRP)
- Game stuff (disc or cartridge, duh)
- Case and cover art
- Booklet, if that’s your jam
Classic Edition ($74.99 MSRP)
- Everything from Standard, plus this cool Steelbook
- Double-sided poster thing, 12”x16”
- Soundtrack CD, because why not
- Retro-style, because we all love a bit of nostalgia
Tail Time Edition ($199.99 MSRP)
- Classic goodies (minus that same CD)
- Gex inflatable doll—yeah, you heard right
- Gex statue, about 7”
- Trading cards, anyone?
- Remote pin, just ‘cause
- Full soundtrack — go big or go home, right?
- Collector’s box, and the artwork’s by Yoshitaka Amano. Fancy, huh?
So here’s the kicker—the digital version’s hitting the Nintendo eShop on June 16, 2025. The physical editions? Later 2025. And you can pre-order right now on their site until, uh, July 6, 2025. Do it or don’t, no pressure from me!
And about the trailer, yeah, there’s one. It’s there if you want to check it out. Not that I saw it—or did I? Maybe I got distracted. Who knows?
