Where do I even start with “Scar-Lead Salvation”? Okay, picture this: you wake up and—surprise!—you’ve got no idea where you are. Boom. Welcome to the chaotic life of Willow Martin. Who’s Willow? Beats me, but apparently, she’s lost in some labyrinth or something. Yeah, it’s one of those roguelite sci-fi shooter kinda things on the PS5. Idea Factory International, Compile Heart, and Neilo Inc. are behind it. All the big brains, right?
Anyway, you’re dodging enemies in these endless floors with traps lurking everywhere. Enemies are like, popping out of nowhere—like that time you opened a can of soda, and it just exploded all over? Just me? Probably. You’ve got this military AI tagging along. Friend or foe? Good question. One of those existential life puzzles the game throws at you, I guess.
Now, I tried to move around (very clumsily, might I add) using the joystick things—you know, the left one to go around and the right to, like, look at stuff. Press a few buttons, like the X to jump (because who doesn’t love jumping?), Triangle to interact (what does that even mean?), and R2 to shoot things. Oh, and don’t forget to dash like you’re in some wild dodging contest using the Circle. Real life skills, right?
I should mention those Micro Armory boxes. Break them open, and who knows what you might find—shiny new weapons or maybe just the ol’ faithful healing item. Sometimes you get Exo Force Driver to amp up your Exo Skill, whatever that means. And getting walloped? Yeah, that sends your Exo Force crashing down.
Annnnd, if you manage to gather enough Exo Force—press R1, and bam! Onslaught mode. It’s like finding a candy bar you forgot in your pocket—invincible, even if just for a bit.
You’re earning Elm, the game’s currency, to grab Exo Skills at shop nodes. Or maybe you need a shiny new weapon? They’ve got you covered. But fair warning: when you bite the dust, which you will, back to square one you go, minus key and Exo items. Playing favorites with Exo Skills can be a strategy, or at least that’s what some gaming guru would say.
Now, trophy hunters, listen up! There’s a whole list of them to nab, with a glorious Platinum trophy for truly dedicated souls. Defeat bosses, dodge stuff a hundred times, melee smackdown, hoarding Elm chips… you get the drift.
Is Willow panicking in an unfamiliar room a metaphor for adult life? Scar-Lead Salvation… be prepared for relentless chaos, confusion, and maybe some surprises. It’s out now on PS5. Good luck—you’ll need it.
Oh yeah, before you think I’m too serious, a quick shoutout to Idea Factory International for the review copy. Now, go brave the madness!
