Alright, so here’s the deal — Two Falls, this game right, from Affordance Studio and Unreliable Narrators, it’s kinda like diving headfirst into a time machine or something. Picture this: 17th-century Canadian wilderness. You’re not just one person; you’re two — Maikan, this young Innu hunter dude, and Jeanne, a “Daughter of the King” (sounds fancy, I know). Jeanne’s basically stuck way out in the boonies of Nouvelle-France. But, hey, the wild Canadian landscape had other plans.
Umm, so Jeanne gets herself caught between wherever and nowhere when her ship, the L’Intrépide (what a name, huh?), well, let’s just say it didn’t end well. She’s clinging on with her trusty dog Capitaine — pretty much all that’s left. As for Maikan, he’s got his own trails to blaze, some medicine man stuff in his family tree. Why he’s out there, nobody told him what his land was like before, you know, other folks showed up. It’s this wild duality — Jeanne’s gotta hustle to Quebec, Maikan’s on some kinda soul-searching trip. Their stories just, y’know, mingle, offering this wild ride from two totally-clashing fronts.
And as you jump into these shoes, game controls are your best friend. Left stick to move around, right stick to look — classic, right? Hit L2 or R2, and boom, you’re sprinting. Oof, I almost lost track there. You interact with stuff by hitting X, and that brings, like, options and choices. And then, there are trophies, so many trophies… Silver, Gold, and that elusive Platinum. Yaaas, trophies for everything — pet the dog, use some fancy card, listen to bullfrogs. Who even comes up with this, right? Oh, and Capitaine gets a treat, too.
Had a brain freeze there, sorry. Codex! Yeah, that’s it. Triangle for your current objective — gotta know where you’re bumbling. That totally wild Codex on the DualSense, what’s it about? Characters, flora, fauna, all that jazz, split into Maikan’s and Jeanne’s eyes. Diving deep into the 1665 world is a must if you fancy understanding their stories.
Elders and First Nations advisers — they helped shape this thing. It’s got depth, and nuance, so don’t skim through it. There’s heart from Native voices in Canada, gotta tip my hat to that. And, yes, it’s out on PlayStation 5, for those gear heads wondering.
Phew, don’t even know why I noticed it but felt worth sharing, maybe. Well, hope I didn’t miss much — just, you know, my take on the game. The devs slipped me a PS5 copy — kinda felt like the least I could do was spill the beans and share.
