Oh man, where do I even start with this? Okay, let’s give it a go. So, this game, yeah? It’s called COLD VR, and I guess it’s kinda a homage to Superhot VR or something. Anyway, developers ALLWARE and the folks at Perp Games are like, “Hey, here’s a new update! COLD VR: SUB-ZERO Edition.” Fancy, right?
This game’s got this crazy twist. You move and instead of time speeding up, it slows down. Wild, huh? It’s like trying to do a fast break in slow motion… gotta be quick or you’re toast.
Oh, and mark your calendars or whatever, because on June 2nd, we’re getting a BIG update. Like, five brand new levels for Quest and PC VR. Can’t lie, I’m kinda excited.
Apparently, they’re messing with the enemy AI too. New main campaign or something — hopefully, it’s smarter this time? The studio’s making those Backroom levels optional, thank goodness. I mean, they were cool, but not always my jam.
Oh! They’ve totally reimagined the intro and Main Menu. So you can jump in quicker, they say. Honestly, not much of a menu person myself — just want to get to the action, you know?
And get this, they’ve thrown in some nifty things like catching weapons mid-air, which sounds tricky but awesome. Better visuals too — fingers crossed for that — plus room-scale movement and even support for bHaptics vests. Talk about feeling the action. Oh, and for anyone waiting on that PSVR 2 version, it’s still coming. Someday.
For now, you can grab a copy on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 or on Steam if you’re playing on PC VR. It’ll set you back about $20. Worth it? Up to you, I guess.
