Alright, so I stumbled upon this game called “Crossings” by Neat Corp. You know them, right? They did the Budget Cuts series? Anyway, they’ve got this new VR thing set in the Norse afterlife. Sounds wild.
Picture this: you and maybe a buddy (or not, whatever works) diving into this constantly shifting world. It’s kinda like being reborn in another realm — trolls, draugr, the whole nine yards. It’s a co-op roguelite, which apparently means the world changes every time. Keeps things fresh, I guess?
You start in this cold, forgotten place. Alone. Creepy, right? But there’s a twist! You don’t talk. It’s all about movement and trust. Might sound odd, but maybe it’s genius. You’re on this mission for vengeance, or survival, or both. Who knows, it’s kind of a blur at this point. You’ll find these ancient weapons — why “Tooth of Nör?” Got me. But you can slash, block, dodge like some Viking superhero.
Neat Corp’s trying to sell it as a dance — strike, block, unleash magic. Read your enemies, they say. Cool, but honestly, if I manage not to trip over myself, it’s a win. And the creatures — trolls, draugr, dvärg — sounds like the kinda things that would haunt my weirdest dreams.
You can fight solo if you’re the lone wolf type, or team up. Each run changes stuff. Every choice and path leaves a mark. Heavy stuff, huh?
Oh, almost forgot — you can wishlist this on Horizon or Steam if that’s your jam. No release date yet, but there’s a demo during Steam Next Fest. October 14th-21st, if you’re the type who likes dates. Just a taste, just you against the world (or whatever that slice is).
And that’s all I got for now. Who knows? Maybe I’ll give it a shot. Or not. We’ll see.
