Oh boy, Nintendo’s up to something again. I mean, seriously, they’re rolling out a free update for Splatoon 3. I heard it’s dropping this Thursday, June 12th—be there or be square, right? They’re calling it version 10.0.0, like that means much to me, ha! Anyway, the big deal here is the Splatlands collection. New weapons galore! We’re talking about Barazushi and Emberz brand newbies. Heard they’re inspired by the old ones but with a twist. Fresh paint, if you will. Oh, and 30 weapon kits? It’s like my inner kid in a candy store moment.
And get this—Urchin Underpass is making a comeback! Yep, straight from the first Splatoon on Wii U. Nostalgia, much? I practically lived there once upon a time. It’s in the stage rotation again, and my head’s already spinning just thinking about the chaos.
More on chaos, they’re hiking up the weapon Freshness cap. What does that even mean? New badges, too. Cool, I guess? Oh! Almost forgot—there’s this new stat… Series Weapon Power or something. Tracks how good (or bad) you are with certain weapons based on wins and losses. Matches you with folks at your level. So, if you’re like me and love experimenting but hate getting crushed, it’s kind of perfect. Gives you a real shot at mastering those new kits without getting wiped off the map.
Now, for those lucky folks messing with the Nintendo Switch 2, folks say the graphics are like, whoa. More detail in places like Splatsville. I’m squinting just thinking about it! But don’t worry, they made sure players on both the original and Switch 2 can still ink it up together. Because, like, who would want to be left out of that colorful mess?
By the way, if you haven’t grabbed Splatoon 3 yet, it’s out there waiting. Physically or magically downloaded from the eShop, your call. It’s worldwide, too. Kinda cool how it all connects, right? Anyway, enough of my rambling—I’ve got a battle to prepare for! 🎮
